We had so much fun with this Lisa Frank wedding style shoot concept. It was a real design evolution and true collaboration and it all started with Lauren from Lovegood Wedding & Event Rentals. She had seen an Instagram story of a rainbow carnation posted by Margaret of Leaf + Petal NOLA. Inspired by all the colors, Lauren was inspired to do a photo shoot with it. We love working together so it was only natural that we would create the styled shoot together.
Originally it started out as a rainbow Valentine’s Day theme but as the details came together, it just started to feel more whimsical and playful (enter the Lisa Frank wedding style theme!). Lauren started with a design concept full of brights and pastel colors, a rainbow backdrop and lots of fun furniture pieces. Then, Margaret from Leaf + Petal NOLA created these amazing color-blocked florals.
(By the way, we did Margaret’s gorgeous wedding too!) The arrangements really popped and brought it all together–from the lounge space area, tablescape, ceremony design, and bar area.

The Lisa Frank wedding style shoot really did come together in the most beautiful of ways.
One of my favorite parts was that dress: I linked to it in the section below but there’s actually a funny story about it. Margaret, the floral designer owned that dress. She had bought it for a Christmas party. And even thought her husband may have been averse to her wearing it, we were SO glad she had it in her closet. That dress was like the missing puzzle piece to this Lisa Frank wedding style shoot!
If you’re dying for a rainbow tulle dress of your very own or your bridesmaids, let us know! Lirika Matoshi has some amazing options. And one more tip about this theme is that you can easily translate it to other types of events. You could take this Lisa Frank wedding style concept and use it for a fun gender reveal party, bridal shower, or birthday party!
