A Modern Vintage Editorial In New Orleans

The inspiration behind this Modern Vintage Editorial in New Orleans was the Memphis gown and the Marigny Opera House.

The Memphis gown by Vagabond Bridal – uber cool square neckline, contemporary lace, boned corset, trapeze skirt and pockets, the ultimate modern bride piece! When putting the details of this shoot together I wanted the dress to steal the show of this Modern Vintage Editorial In New Orleans.

Mixing period pieces from Lovegood Rentals and House of Modern Vintage all while ensuring the layout of the space and furniture were all proportional and created flow.

As many antique items are made from heavy materials like wood, we lightened up the room with soft color floral from Leaf and Petal Nola and vintage lounge furniture. For the metals we decided on sleek matte gold for a rich patina detail.

The cake bar was the perfect mix of modern cake details and a touch of wafer. Boasting four cakes in an array of shapes and size, designed by Chasing Wang one with soft pastel wafer paper, floral textures, a mini yellow cake with simple neutral florals, a two tiered mixed height and vertical crinkle delicate pattern and simple floral placement and a classic white cake with a modern twist on floral placement. I can’t decide which one is my favorite.

The table-scape set with gold flatware and gilded white place setting, vintage wine goblets atop a natural wood table with neutral florals was the perfect table design to complete this beautiful shoot.
